Avril Lavigne ha publicado recientemente su séptimo album de estudio, un trabajo titulado ‘Love Sux’ que llega tres años después de su anterior producción (‘Head Above Water’).
La artista canadiense ha regresado con una nueva colección de doce canciones grabadas durante este último año de pandemia. Además, el disco incluye las colaboraciones de Machine Gun Kelly, Blackbear y Marck Hoppus. Esto es lo que comentaba recientemente Avril sobre el álbum en una entrevista para Entertainment Weekly: «Es rápido. Es divertido. Es puro rock & roll. Hay muchas reflexiones sobre las diferentes relaciones por las que he pasado y dónde estoy, y aunque hay canciones sobre experiencias amorosas pasadas que no funcionaron, estoy en un lugar tan bueno en mi vida que todavía es simplemente divertido, luchador y ligero. Me estoy burlando de mí misma porque he pasado por muchas cosas en el amor».
El actual single promocional del disco es el tema ‘Love It When You Hate Me‘, que cuenta con la colaboración de blackbear. La canción viene acompañada de un videoclip dirigido por Audrey Ellis Fox en el que Avril aparece acompañada de Travis Barker y blackbear.
