‘star-crossed’ es el quinto trabajo discográfico de Kacey Musgraves, una colección de 15 pistas que se pondrá a la venta el próximo 10 de septiembre.
El disco post-divorcio de la cantante relata todo lo vivido durante los últimos años en la ruptura de su matrimonio con Ruston Kelly. Se anuncia como una estructurada tragedia moderna en tres actos que relata «un viaje extremadamente personal de dolor y curación». La cantante ha vuelto a trabajar con Ian Fitchuk y Daniel Tashian, con los que ya colaboró en su anterior álbum ‘Golden Hour’ (2018).
Esto es lo que ha comentado la cantante en una entrevista a Apple Music: «Al principio de este año me dije: «me gustaría tener la oportunidad de transformar mi trauma en algo más, y quiero darme a mí misma la oportunidad aunque sea doloroso». Estoy emocionada de compartir ‘star-crossed’ solo porque la gente me conoce como una autora que escribe sobre lo que le está pasando. Y creo que sería extremadamente incómodo que fingiera que este último capítulo no ha pasado para mí. Me visteis en lo más alto en ‘Golden Hour’ y esto es la otra cara. También con sus partes bonitas».
El disco ‘star-crossed’ vendrá acompañado de una película de 50 minutos de duración que está protagonizado por la propia Kacey bajo la dirección de Bardia Zeinali. Además, contará con cameos de Eugene Levy y Princess Nokia, junto a otras sorpresas.
Después del reciente estreno de la canción que da título al disco, la cantante ha estrenado el tema ‘justified‘ como primer single oficial del álbum ‘star-crossed’. Se trata de un medio tiempo producido por Daniel Tashian, Ian Fitchuk y la propia Kacey.
