Desde el pasado viernes 14 de mayo, está disponible en todas las plataformas de streaming el nuevo tema que Katy Perry ha publicado para celebrar el 25 aniversario de Pokémon.
Bajo el título de ‘Electric‘, la artista rinde tributo a esta icónica franquicia que le retrotrae a su infancia cuando jugaba con su Game Boy al primer juego de Pokémon. Katy ha compuesto el tema bajo la producción The Monsters & Strangerz, Jon Bellion y Bruce Weigner.
“Cuando visité el café Pokémon durante mi gira por Japón me sentí muy nostálgica. Me llevó de vuelta a mis años de instituto. Así que cuando me abordaron para formar parte de la celebración del 25th aniversario junto a Post Malone y J Balvin estaba exultante,” dice Katy Perry. “Los temas que trata la canción – la resiliencia, alimentar la propia luz interior, han guiado mi vida y establecen un paralelismo con los personajes de la narrativa de Pokémon. Pikachu es la forma desarrollada de Pichu, así que en el video ves la versión joven de mi misma con Pichu, y mi persona del presente con Pikachu. Ambos evolucionamos, pero conservamos el sentido de la alegría.”
La canción formará parte del álbum recopilatorio ‘Pokémon 25: The Album‘ que se pondrá a la venta en otoño bajo el sello de Universal Music Group, Capitol Records.
El videoclip oficial de ‘Electric‘ ha sido dirigido por Carlos Lopez Estrada, realizador del film de Disney ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’. Según la descripción oficial, en el vídeo «Katy y Pikachu disfrutan de la naturaleza y reflexionan acerca de su evolución a lo largo del tiempo. Tras un día de exploración, la pareja se detiene frente a un faro a meditar. Cayendo en una ensoñación, se ven atrás en el tiempo, en los inicios de la carrera de Katy. Gracias a que su amigo Pichu la anima, Katy pasa de cantar en el mercado a tener su primera actuación en un club».
